Gastronomia a Bordo anima Ílhavo entre 14 e 18 de Novembro

De 14 a 18 de novembro, Ílhavo embarca numa aventura de degustação, que nos remete para as longas campanhas de pesca do Bacalhau nos mares gélidos do Atlântico Norte.

Durante o festival será também possível “mergulhar” no património gastronómico nacional, através de visitas a estaleiros, museus, fábricas, lotas, navios e também a outros equipamentos de transformação e preparação alimentar. O Festival Gastronomia de Bordo apresenta-se, assim, numa homenagem à cozinha tradicional portuguesa, e bacalhoeira, tendo como “porto seguro” catorze restaurantes do Município de Ílhavo, num modelo contemporâneo e inovador, suportado nos sabores e nas tradições a bordo dos bacalhoeiros projetados em experiências e especialidades gastronómicas únicas e particulares.

O Festival Gastronomia de Bordo projeta para os dias de hoje a gastronomia, tradicionalmente produzida a bordo das embarcações de pesca longínqua. Exemplo disso é a famosa Chora, uma sopa feita com a cabeça do bacalhau que deu mote a alguns ditos entre os homens nos navios “quem come chora, tem de cá voltar!”.

Eram servidos pratos como a feijoada de chispe, feijão assado, caldeirada de espinhas de bacalhau, bacalhau frito, o “pão da pana” e o “queque dos domingos”, entre outros, comida retemperante para climas hostis e mares inóspitos enfrentados por heroicos pescadores…

Às memórias gastronómicas de bordo não serão alheios os processos tradicionais de conservação dos produtos da pesca: a “cura tradicional portuguesa”, o peixe fresco, a salga, a seca e as conservas.
