E os vencedores do Bairrada Vinho e Sabores foram…

Por favor, não criem títulos a dizer que o melhor espumante da Bairrada é… o vencedor. Quando um vinho ganha um concurso, ganha um concurso com certas regras, com um júri e com uns certos concorrentes.

O vencedor do concurso de espumantes inserido no Bairrada Vinhos e Sabores foi o “São Domingos Elpídio 80 branco 2011”, uma edição limitada (4.821 garrafas) de um espumante premium, que a Caves do Solar de São Domingos acaba de lançar para celebrar a efeméride dos 80 anos da empresa e uma homenagem ao seu fundador, Elpídio Martins Semedo.

De entre os mais de 50 espumantes a concurso – que se realizou na manhã de sábado no Museu do Vinho Bairrada, em Anadia, perante um painel de jurados composto por jornalistas, críticos de vinhos, enólogos e representantes do comércio –, foram 13 os laureados com Medalha de Ouro.

O ‘Concurso Espumantes Bairrada’ acontece de dois em dois anos, intercalado com o ‘Concurso de Vinhos e Espumantes Bairrada’. A última edição foi em 2015 e a Grande Medalha de Ouro foi também atribuída a um espumante da Caves do Solar de São Domingos: o ‘Lopo de Freitas branco 2010’.

O ‘São Domingos Elpídio 80 branco 2011’ é um espumante com Denominação de Origem Bairrada produzido pelo método clássico – segunda fermentação em garrafa – e resultado da combinação das castas Pinot Noir (50%) e Pinot Blanc (50%), invulgar na produção de espumantes na região.
