Os resultados do concurso de espumantes Brut Experience foram muito interessantes para a Bairrada, tendo os seus vinhos recebido a maioria das medalhas da categoria principal. Foi esse o tema principal do podcast, que falou também das muitas e boas provas que decorrem em Julho

De entre os 96 espumantes Brutos e Brutos Naturais presentes a concurso, o júri, constituído por jornalistas, bloggers, enólogos, escanções e comerciantes de vinhos portugueses e de outros países europeus, selecionou 28 vencedores, galardoados com Medalhas de Ouro e Prata, nas categorias Jovem, Reserva, Super Reserva e Grande Reserva. “Este ano não foram atribuídas medalhas de Prestígio, alcançáveis para espumantes com 95 pontos ou mais, em 100 na competição, apesar de algumas marcas terem andado no limiar deste patamar”, destacaram os organizadores, José Miguel Dentinho (jornalista e experimentado provador de vinhos) e Luís Gradíssimo (empreendor, formador e fundador da marca Enóphilo).

No concurso Brut Experience 2018, onde são apenas atribuídas medalhas a 30% dos vinhos em competição, estiveram presentes espumantes oriundos das regiões portuguesas dos Vinhos Verdes, Douro, Távora-Varosa, Dão, Bairrada, Tejo, Lisboa, Península de Setúbal, Alentejo e Madeira, França e Alemanha. Entre as distinções Ouro, o destaque vai para a Bairrada, que conquistou sete Medalhas com os espumantes: Kompassus Blanc des Noirs Bruto Natural Super Reserva 2014 (Kompassus Vinhos); Luiz Costa branco Bruto Natural Super Reserva 2015 (Caves São João); Regateiro branco Bruto Super Reserva (Lusovini); Hibernus Premier branco Bruto 2016 (Maria do Rosário Reis Tiago Carvalheira); Marquês de Marialva branco Extra Bruto Cuvée Grande Reserva (Adega de Cantanhede); Joaquim Arnaud branco Bruto Super Reserva 2014 (Joaquim Arnaud); e Aplauso branco Bruto Reserva 2015 (Lusovini). A região dos Vinhos Verdes recebeu três distinções Ouro – Dom Ferro branco Bruto Super Reserva 2007 (Quinta do Ferro), Muralhas de Monção branco Bruto Reserva 2015 (Adega Cooperativa e Regional de Monção) e Quinta da Calçada Colheita Imperial branco Bruto Reserva (Agrimota), o mesmo tendo acontecido com a região de Lisboa, onde se destacaram os espumantes Quinta do Rol rosé Extra Bruto Grande Reserva (Quinta do Rol), Quinta da Romeira branco Bruto Reserva 2014 e Quinta da Romeira branco Brut Nature Reserva 2012 (WineVentures).
