Baga – A Casta, o Vinho, a Região é o tema central do congresso que vai decorrer no auditório do Biocant Park, em Cantanhede, no próximo dia 30 de novembro, sexta-feira. Trata-se de um encontro de profissionais da atividade vitivinícola promovido no âmbito de uma parceria da autarquia cantanhedense com a revista Grandes Escolhas, a Adega Cooperativa de Cantanhede e as empresas Kompassus e Quinta de Baixo, tendo como objetivo fomentar a reflexão sobre as principais questões relacionadas com produção de vinhos a partir da casta identitária da Bairrada, entre as quais a organização das áreas de exploração, o ciclo vegetativo da vinha, características enológicas, estratégias comerciais e também o seu papel na afirmação da região do ponto de vista enoturístico.
Contando com o apoio da Comissão Vitivinícola da Bairrada e da Turismo Centro de Portugal, o evento irá desenrolar-se com base em intervenções de especialistas nacionais e internacionais, que serão o ponto de partida para debates que visam suscitar novas pistas sobre o enquadramento da Baga em aspetos como a vinha, investigação, zonagem, enologia, produto, comunicação e turismo.
A participação é gratuita, mas com inscrição prévia obrigatória (em inscricoes@grandesescolhas.com; tlf: 215800478) sendo sujeito a pagamento o jantar final no restaurante Marquês de Marialva (25 euros) e a Masterclass BAGA (10 euros), orientada por Luís Lopes, a realizar no dia seguinte, 1 de dezembro, a partir das 10H00, no Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho de Cantanhede.
A 30 de novembro, a abertura do congresso está agendada para as 10h00, com uma mensagem de boas-vindas da presidente da Câmara Municipal, Helena Teodósio, após o que serão apresentadas comunicações sobre Viticultura: a Baga na Vinha, por César Almeida (DRAP-Estação Vitivinícola da Bairrada), Investigação: O Apuramento da Casta, por Antero Martins e Elsa Gonçalves (Instituto Superior de Agronomia), e Zonagem: Os Terroirs da Bairrada, por Francisco Antunes (Aliança Vinhos), e João Soares(Caves Messias) todas com debate no final.
À tarde os trabalhos recomeçam com uma mesa redonda sobre Enologia: Interpretar a Baga na Adega, com os enólogos e produtores Anselmo Mendes (Kompassus), Luís Pato, Mário Sérgio Nuno (Quinta das Bágeiras), Osvaldo Amado (Adega Cooperativa de Cantanhede) e Sérgio Silva (Quinta de Baixo), seguida de uma intervenção centrada em Produto: Baga-Bairrada, Um Caso de Sucesso, por Pedro Soares, presidente da Comissão Vitivinícola da Bairrada. Comunicar: A Importância da Baga como Fator de Identidade Regional é o tema a desenvolver por Dirceu Vianna Júnior (Master of Wine), a anteceder uma alocução do presidente do Turismo do Centro, Pedro Machado, sobre A Bairrada como Destino e Produto Turístico, estando o final dos trabalhos previsto para 18h30 com a apresentação das conclusões.
O congresso Baga – A Casta, o Vinho, a Região insere-se num projeto de divulgação do concelho de Cantanhede enquanto terroir de excelência desta variedade da Bairrada que está na origem de vinhos que têm vindo a merecer crescente reconhecimento nacional e internacional.
