Os Baga Friends (Filipa Pato, Luis Pato, Quinta da Vacariça, Quinta das Bágeiras, Quinta de Baixo / Niepoort e Vinhos Sidónio de Sousa) juntaram-se há dez anos com o intuito de promover a casta rainha da Bairrada. Na altura, e até há pouco incluíam, António Rocha (vinhos Bussaco) e todos os anos foram promovendo a Baga e a Bairrada com eventos e uma promoção externa.

Para comemorar o décimo aniversário decidiram promover uma festa dupla, a 20 e 21 e lançaram o Dia Internacional da Baga – a 21 de maio – pretendendo que o terceiro fim de semana de maio seja, todos os anos, um momento de celebrar a casta que caracteriza os vinhos tintos e muitos espumantes da região.

Este ano, há um extenso programa de festas e aos jantares e/ou eventos mais intimistas de sexta-feira, o grupo tem um “dia aberto” no sábado, terminando a noite num jantar de todos, onde apresentam um novo associado, a empresa VADIO do casal Eduarda Dias e Luís Patrão.

Na sexta-feira a lógica é mais intimista. Há pequenos jantares, com grupos reduzidos, em que os convivas são presenteados com abertura de garrafas especiais. Já no sábado, a ideia é que os participantes comprem o passe diário de 40 euros para passear pelas adegas e provar novas colheitas e vinhos diferentes. Quem for fã pode comprar o passe diário VIP de 80 euros e recebe uma garrafa especial de um dos produtores assinada pelo mesmo.

No final do roteiro, um jantar para 100 pessoas no Rei dos Leitões com a presença de todos os Baga Friends encerra este dia de festa e de partilha que os Baga Friends pretendem que seja regular – no verdadeiro Dia Internacional da Baga.
