E a prova transformou-se no já esperado. Uma volta pelo passado, presente e futuro de um projecto muito pessoal do João Roseira e do Luis Soares Duarte, com vinhos de um equilíbrio singular e que permitem o estágio em garrafa por largos anos… como pudemos comprovar num jantar informal que degustámos algumas relíquias.

E os ainda não engarrafados Viosinho e Clarete. O que marcou a prova, além da prosa fácil do enólogo, foi a acidez e o equilíbrio dos vinhos, sejam brancos e/ou tintos, aguentando por largos anos (os mais velhos, já com dez anos, ainda muito jovens) e os brancos a pedir que a degustação fosse “à mesa”.

Curiosamente, esse tema da longevidade dos mesmos, foi o motivo para uma discussão “à mesa” logo a seguir à prova. O leque foi o seguinte:

O resultado? O melhor vinho da noite foi o 2000 OP, seguido do 2000 “normal”, com o 2001 “já morto” e algum couro acentuado no mais velho. Uma grande prova, numa grande noite e um agradecimento ao Ceboleiros pela ementa. Deliciosa!

É uma empresa ainda recente (faz 10 anos) e que junta a visão cosmopolita do seu fundador, Mário Pinheiro, cuja influência sul-africana, onde viveu, mostra-se no Chenin Blanc (Connections) ao conhecimento profundo do Nuno Bicó. apaixonado pelo rei Antão Vaz e outras castas. A marca mais sonante da casa é Gáudio, seguido dos Pato Frio e Barrancoa.

Mário Pinheiro e Nuno Bicó são os fundadores, Paulo Laureano dá a consultoria enológica, sendo a presença diária assegurada pelo enólogo Jorge Rebocho e Vitor Oliveira conjuga a componente comercial com um saber estar impecável!

Em três anos compraram 28 parcelas de terrenos abandonados, que transformaram numa propriedade única e uniforme à qual deram o nome de Herdade do Moinho Branco, com uma área de 114 hectares, juntinho à Vidigueira.
